Apni Chhat Apna Ghar 2026: Rs 15 Lakh Interest-Free Loan, Eligibility & Apply Online

What is the CM E-Bike Scheme?

The Chief Minister’s E-Bike Scheme is a Government of Punjab initiative, delivered through the Transport & Mass Transit Department in partnership with the Bank of Punjab (financing) and the Punjab Information Technology Board (computerized balloting). It helps eligible Punjab students get an electric motorcycle or scooty on an interest-free installment plan, rather than students paying market price upfront.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz chaired a review meeting on 2 September 2026 and announced a significantly larger and more generous phase: over 125,000 e-bikes, with students paying zero down payment and roughly Rs. 3,000 a month, while the province covers the interest and insurance. Applications opened online on 4 September 2026.

Earlier phases of this scheme (2025 and early 2026) required an upfront down payment, so if you saw older information describing a required down payment, that’s now outdated for the new application window students applying now should confirm current terms directly on the portal, since final published guidelines can add detail the initial announcement didn’t cover.

Owning a home feels impossible when banks want 20%+ interest — you’d pay back double what you borrowed. Apni Chhat Apna Ghar changes that math completely: a Rs 1.5 million interest-free loan to build your own house. No interest. Not “low” interest — zero. Here’s who qualifies, what it actually costs per month, and how to apply.

The deal, in plain numbers

  • Loan amount: up to Rs 1,500,000
  • Interest: 0% — you pay back exactly what you borrow
  • Monthly installment: roughly Rs 14,000/month over 7 years
  • Purpose: constructing a house on a plot you own

That installment math is the whole story: Rs 14,000 a month is less than rent for a decent portion in most Punjab cities — except at the end, the house is yours.

Who is eligible?

  • Punjab domicile.
  • You must own a plot (this is the filter most people miss — the loan is for construction, not for buying land).
  • First-time homeowner / deserving household criteria as announced on the official portal.
  • Valid CNIC; PSER registration strengthens your application since it’s becoming the gateway for Punjab welfare schemes.

Be honest with yourself about the plot requirement before applying — applications without clear plot ownership documents don’t move forward, and that’s where most rejections happen.

How to apply online

  1. Go to the official portal: acag.punjab.gov.pk. Only this site.
  2. Register with your CNIC and mobile number.
  3. Fill in your personal details and plot information (location, size, ownership documents).
  4. Upload: CNIC, proof of plot ownership (fard/registry), and other documents the portal asks for.
  5. Submit and save your application tracking number.

What happens after you apply?

Applications go through verification — plot ownership and eligibility are checked before approval. Approved applicants are disbursed in stages tied to construction progress (the money follows the building work, which also keeps the scheme honest). Timelines vary by district; the portal announces balloting/selection lists.

Stay safe

Housing schemes attract the worst scammers: fake “file charges,” agents promising guaranteed approval, forged allotment letters. The real scheme has no agents and no file fee. If someone asks for money to “move your file,” walk away.
