The stages your application actually goes through
- Submission: you get an Application ID by SMS and email. Keep it.
- Verification (Bank of Punjab): typically the longest stage. BOP confirms your enrolment directly with your institution and pulls your guarantor’s credit report. You don’t need to do anything at this point unless BOP messages you for clarification respond quickly if they do.
- Balloting (PITB): cleared files go into the computerized draw within published quotas. Results go out by SMS, email, and the portal, typically the same day as the draw.
- Post-selection verification (Bank of Punjab again): home/address verification, a fuller credit and debt-burden check on your guarantor, and agreement signing.
- Dealer assignment and delivery: only after financing is finalized.
Why your status might not be updating
- Your SIM isn’t registered on your own CNIC. This is, by far, the most common cause of “I never got an update” complaints OTPs and status SMS only reach a number registered in your own name.
- You’re still in the verification queue. This stage has historically taken the longest and there’s little to actively do except wait and respond promptly if contacted.
- A document issue is holding your file. Log in and check the portal directly rather than assuming a delay means rejection.
What to do and not do while waiting
- Do check the portal periodically rather than calling or messaging every day; most updates go out by SMS automatically.
- Do keep your learner’s permit or license valid and unexpired.
- Do not share your CNIC, password, or Application ID with anyone claiming to be an “agent” who can speed things up no one can accelerate verification or influence the ballot, and sharing your credentials only creates a fraud risk.
- Do not trust any non-government website that claims to show your “real” live status live records exist only inside the Punjab government and Bank of Punjab systems.

Technically, anyone with your CNIC and Application ID can view your status which is exactly why you shouldn’t hand these details to anyone outside your own household.
Does a status of “under verification” mean I’ve won the ballot?
No, verification happens both before and after the ballot. “Under verification” before the draw just means your documents are being checked for eligibility to enter the ballot pool.
