We explain the scheme in plain language. Applications are handled only through official government channels listed below. We never collect CNICs, documents, payments, or credentials.
For persons with disabilities in Punjab, the Himmat Card means Rs 10,500 every three months — paid quarterly, no interest, no repayment. It’s real money for people who are too often ignored by every other scheme. But there’s a catch most guides skip: you can’t get the card without a disability certificate first — and that’s where most applications stall. This guide starts there.
Step 0: Get your disability certificate (do this first)
The Himmat Card requires a valid disability certificate issued by the Social Welfare Department. Without it, your application goes nowhere.
- Visit your District Social Welfare Office with your CNIC.
- A medical board assesses the disability and issues the certificate.
- Keep multiple copies — laminated if you can. You’ll need it for the card and for every future disability-related benefit.
This step takes the longest, so start it before you do anything else. Families often wait months thinking “the card people” will handle certification — they won’t. Certificate first, card second.
What the Himmat Card gives you
- Rs 10,500 per quarter (every 3 months) as direct financial assistance.
- No repayment, no interest — it’s assistance, not a loan.
- Disbursed through designated channels announced by the Social Welfare Department.
Who is eligible?
- Person with disability holding a valid disability certificate.
- Punjab domicile, valid CNIC.
- Meeting the department’s criteria (announced on the official portal).
How to apply
- Get your disability certificate (see Step 0 above).
- Apply through the official portal: dpmis.punjab.gov.pk (Social Welfare Department).
- Submit your CNIC, disability certificate, and required documents.
- Track your application status on the portal.
Stay safe
Disabled applicants are targeted by “agents” who charge thousands to “guarantee” the card. The card is free to apply for. Anyone asking for money is exploiting you — report them to the Social Welfare Department.
