Rehmat Card Punjab 2026: Financial Assistance for Widows & Orphans

What is the CM E-Bike Scheme?

The Chief Minister’s E-Bike Scheme is a Government of Punjab initiative, delivered through the Transport & Mass Transit Department in partnership with the Bank of Punjab (financing) and the Punjab Information Technology Board (computerized balloting). It helps eligible Punjab students get an electric motorcycle or scooty on an interest-free installment plan, rather than students paying market price upfront.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz chaired a review meeting on 2 September 2026 and announced a significantly larger and more generous phase: over 125,000 e-bikes, with students paying zero down payment and roughly Rs. 3,000 a month, while the province covers the interest and insurance. Applications opened online on 4 September 2026.

Earlier phases of this scheme (2025 and early 2026) required an upfront down payment, so if you saw older information describing a required down payment, that’s now outdated for the new application window students applying now should confirm current terms directly on the portal, since final published guidelines can add detail the initial announcement didn’t cover.

When a family’s breadwinner dies, the grief is followed by a quieter crisis — the income stops, but the expenses don’t. The Rehmat Card is Punjab’s assistance program for widows and orphans, offering financial support to households that lost their earning member. If that’s your family, here’s what you need to know.

Who is it for?

  • Widows in Punjab who have lost their husbands and lack a stable income source.
  • Orphans / guardian households caring for children who lost their father.
  • Punjab domicile, valid CNIC of the applicant (widow) or guardian.
  • Need-based assessment — the program targets households without other adequate support.

Documents you’ll need

  • CNIC of the widow/guardian.
  • Death certificate of the deceased husband/father (from NADRA/union council) — this is the key document; get it first if you don’t have it.
  • Children’s B-Forms (for orphan-related assistance).
  • Proof of residence / domicile.

Start with the death certificate if you don’t have one — union council issuance takes time, and every assistance application needs it.

How to apply

  1. Gather the documents above — death certificate first.
  2. Apply through the official portal: rahmatcard.punjab.gov.pk.
  3. Fill in household details honestly — family size, income sources, children’s ages.
  4. Submit and keep your tracking number.

Also check: you’re likely eligible for more

Widows and orphan-caring households often qualify for multiple programs at once — don’t stop at one card:

One application doesn’t block another. Deserving families should claim everything they’re entitled to.

Stay safe

Grieving families are targeted by “welfare agents” charging fees to “process” assistance. Government widow/orphan assistance has no agents and no fees. Anyone asking for money in this situation is exploiting your loss — report them.
