CM Punjab IT Internship 2026: Rs 50,000/Month, Eligibility & Apply Online

What is the CM E-Bike Scheme?

The Chief Minister’s E-Bike Scheme is a Government of Punjab initiative, delivered through the Transport & Mass Transit Department in partnership with the Bank of Punjab (financing) and the Punjab Information Technology Board (computerized balloting). It helps eligible Punjab students get an electric motorcycle or scooty on an interest-free installment plan, rather than students paying market price upfront.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz chaired a review meeting on 2 September 2026 and announced a significantly larger and more generous phase: over 125,000 e-bikes, with students paying zero down payment and roughly Rs. 3,000 a month, while the province covers the interest and insurance. Applications opened online on 4 September 2026.

Earlier phases of this scheme (2025 and early 2026) required an upfront down payment, so if you saw older information describing a required down payment, that’s now outdated for the new application window students applying now should confirm current terms directly on the portal, since final published guidelines can add detail the initial announcement didn’t cover.

The general CM Internship Program is good. This one is better — if you’re in tech. The CM Punjab IT Internship pays Rs 50,000 per month for 5 months to IT graduates. That’s Rs 250,000 total, for doing real tech work in government departments. For a fresh CS graduate in Lahore, that’s life-changing money while you build your CV. Here’s how to get in.

What you get

  • Rs 50,000/month stipend × 5 months = Rs 250,000 total.
  • Placement in government IT departments / digital projects — real development, systems, and digitization work.
  • Government-recognized internship certificate with actual project experience to show.

Who is eligible?

  • IT/CS/SE graduates (or closely related degrees) — this track is tech-only.
  • Punjab domicile, valid CNIC.
  • Typically recent graduates (check the current cycle’s graduation-year window on the portal).
  • Demonstrable skills help — a GitHub profile or portfolio beats a bare degree.

How to apply

  1. Go to the official portal: cmitinterns.punjab.gov.pk. Only this site.
  2. Register with your CNIC and mobile number.
  3. Fill in your education and technical skills — languages, frameworks, tools you actually know.
  4. Upload: CNIC, degree/transcript, CV, and links to your portfolio/GitHub if you have one.
  5. Submit before the cycle’s closing date.

Stand out (tech-specific advice)

  • Show, don’t tell: link 2–3 real projects. A deployed app beats “proficient in Python” on every CV.
  • Match government tech needs: web portals, databases, digitization projects — emphasize full-stack and database skills.
  • Apply early in the cycle — same rule as every competitive program.

Also consider

Not from IT? The general CM Internship Program covers other fields. And if you want skills before applying anywhere, TEVTA and PSDF offer free training.

Stay safe

High-stipend programs attract “placement agents” charging for guaranteed slots. The internship has no agents and no fees. Anyone selling a seat is scamming you.
